Attention: Actors, Comedians, Singers, Musicians and Other Entertainers:
Make Your Online Presence
Work For You
What people find when they “Google” your name
is your online
presence.
Is
it saying what you want it to say?
Just for fun, I Googled some of my favorite actors just to see what their
online presence said about them. Do you know that I found?
To protect the "innocent," I won't name names, but one actor came
across as a crazy person, another was practically non-existent, while another
was obviously highly respected.
Which actor would you want to be?
Let me ask you a more pointed question ...
Are you satisfied with the number
and quality
of projects and gigs you are attracting?
If you answered "no,"
it could be that your branding isn't working for you. It could be that
your reputation, which is heavily influenced by your online presence, is
not saying about you what you want it to be saying. It could be that your
marketing isn't in alignment with your core.
As much as I wish it was really all about talent, it isn't. There are awesome
entertainers who don't work as much as they want. And mediocre entertainers
who seem to get all the work. This is, in part, due to their marketing
prowess.
The fact is, from your website to your activities in social
media to publicity, your online presence can have a profound effect on
the growth of your fan base and the number and quality of projects you
get to work on. So, you need to become the master of your online domain.
"But I'm an
actor ... comedian ... singer ...
musician ... entertainer
[insert your creative profession here]
not a marketer!"
True, but when you know and understand the basics of marketing yourself,
you will get more opportunities to practice your craft ... and those opportunities
will be of higher quality.
Not only that, but you'll make the jobs of your publicist
and manager (if you have one) so much easier ... they'll work all the more
to get you those better gigs.
I'm not saying you need to become a marketer ... although that will help.
I'm saying you need to understand the basics of marketing yourself so that
you can help those who market you do their jobs more effectively ... and
you'll be able to recognize when the help you've hired isn't really helping.
The truth is ... most entertainers don't want to do
their own promotions. So let me ask you this:
"Would you rather
be the typical starving actor
working in a restaurant ... chasing
your dreams
for the rest of your life? ...
Or would you be willing to put
in 2-3 hours a week
to actualize your goals and be thriving
from your soul
to your bank account?
At this point, you're probably asking yourself, "Why
should I invest in marketing and online presence coaching?"
One of the most common challenges in achieving your goals, whether it is
with your online presence or improving your craft, is creating and maintaining
momentum with single-minded focus and consistency.
Coaching can help you create
momentum, keep that momentum moving forward, make sure you stay focused
and help you sustain consistent effort.
The bottom line is, as much as
you need to hone your craft, if no one knows you exist,
you won't get booked. I can show you how to cultivate an online
presence that gets you noticed.
Understanding the business aspects of
your profession is equally important in attaining the success you deserve.
Marketing and online presence coaching is about building a foundation for
your career that you can enjoy for a lifetime. It's about developing effective
business habits for long-term success.
Online presence coaching is not for everyone. Although coaching in online
marketing tactics can be enormously beneficial to your career, you need
to be ready to receive those benefits. I can't hand them to you on a silver
platter (although I wish I could).
You need to be in a place where you
are ready to consistently work toward your goals.
You need to be ready
to think outside the box and learn some skills that may not be obviously
related to your core skill set.
To see if what
I have to offer is right for you. Take a look at these statements. Do any
of them resonate with you?
- I want to increase my visibility and get noticed.
- I want to grow and leverage my fan base.
- I'm not sure how to use social media to support my career.
- My career is starting to take off. I want to take advantage of my increased
visibility to grow even further in my career.
- I want to take my career to the next level.
If one or more of these statements reflect your thoughts, online presence
coaching may be what you're looking for. You see, I can show you how to cultivate
an online presence that will support your career goals.
So, are you ready to take it to the next level? I can help you get there
with laser focus and clarity. I can help you ...
- Laser in on your core branding message ... what your unique set of talents
makes you perfectly suited to do.
- Boldly define your career goals ... identify what success means for you,
not what others say it should mean.
- Identify your niche so that you attract the perfect
projects, gigs, venues
and fans that will help you achieve your definition of success.
- Create a strategy for growing and nurturing your fan base, which will, in
turn, help you attract your perfect projects, gigs, etc.
- Master the techniques for increasing the number and quality of bookings
you attract.
You owe it to yourself to be the master of
your career. Are you ready?
